Homes sales in February jumped 14% over the same month last year, the ninth month in a row that sales increased.
Data from the Maine Real Estate Information System Inc. showed a total of 494 existing single family homes were sold in Maine last month, compared with 433 in February 2009, according to the Maine Public Broadcasting Network. The median sales price, however, remained flat at $158,000.
Sales in the Northeast region increased 12%, and the median sales price also rose 7.5% to $254,700. Across the country, home sales fell 0.6%, according to the Washington Post.
