Two Maine health organizations are each receiving $600,000 in grant funding as a way to encourage consumers to sign up for insurance.
The Associated Press reported that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is awarding navigator grant funding to Western Maine Community Action and the Fishing Partnership Health PLan, two organizations based in Augusta.
The two organizations will use the money to pay workers who will assist Mainers with using  www.healthcare.gov, the federal health insurance exchange website, which opens for enrollment on Nov. 15 and closes on Feb. 15, 2015.
