The Boston-based First Wind has reached a deal to sell power from its Hancock Wind project near Ellsworth to the municipal power utility for Burlington, Vt.
The company said in a press release it will sell 25% of the power and renewable energy certificates from the 54-megawatt wind farm under a 10-year fixed-price deal.
The announcement of the deal came just after the state’s Board of Environmental Protection rejected two appeals seeking to invalidate state approval of the $110 million project. The planned 18-turbine Hancock Wind project would abut the 19-turbine Bull Hill Wind project built last year.
