Matt Leonard, former president and CEO of the Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, said he has launched a company to recruit service members and veterans.
Military Talent Source LLC matches veterans with “specific opportunities in the civilian corporate sector,” Leonard said in a news release Thursday. The service will focus on Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.
Leonard, a U.S. Navy veteran, resigned from the chamber last year amid controversy over a planned chamber raffle of an AR-15 rifle.
Military Talent Source, whose tagline is “Talent on target,” will focus on the 200,000 to 250,000 military service members who separate from the armed services each year, Leonard said.
“Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont have demographic challenges that require bringing in new people to sustain their economies. This is a win for veterans, companies and communities,” Leonard said.
