Franklin Savings Bank has been ranked the “strongest bank in Maine” by TheStreet.com, an independent website that analyzes financial services companies, mutual funds and stocks.
Less than 4% of the nation’s banks and thrifts meet the site’s ratings’ criteria, according to a letter from a TheStreet.com executive to Peter Judkins, the locally owned bank’s president and CEO, the Morning Sentinel reported. The site evaluates the strength of more than 15,000 institutions and tracks the performance of more than 12,000 mutual funds and 6,000 stocks.
