2020 Goals

Full Plates Full Potential will continue working statewide to break down barriers that children face in accessing nutritious food. We will achieve this through our program work with schools and organizations by making investments with our FEED KIDS Grants; working to implement recently passed statewide legislation that creates more access for children in school breakfast, afterschool meals, and the application to sign-up for free and reduced priced meal assistance; and coordinating childhood hunger partners in our Leadership Council.

We will fund our activities through our FEED KIDS business partners who participate in our cause marketing initiative; our signature benefit events that showcase the generosity and talents of Maine’s creative class and highlight our core program work; and through corporate sponsorships, foundation donations, and private contributions.

Fundraising events/Opportunities

Full Plates Full Potential takes a unique, multifaceted approach to fundraising that combines a slate of word class benefit events, and a cause marketing platform that invites Maine businesses of all sizes, sectors, and locations to take action toward ending child hunger in Maine.

Our events, produced in partnership with Maine’s creative professionals including our renowned culinary community and nationally touring local musicians, offer businesses integration opportunities on a variety of levels from sponsorship, to in-kind contributions, to event attendance as a way to reward key staffers and important clients – illustrating your commitment to ensuring a bright future for Maine’s emerging generation.

Additionally, our proprietary FEED KIDS cause marketing initiative offers an everyday way for companies to leverage their business for good. By designating one product or service as your FEED KIDS item and donating as little as one dollar each time that item is purchased, you join a powerful movement that gets us ever closer to ensuring that no Maine child grows up hungry.

Giving Opportunities

Full Plates Full Potential relies on the generosity of private citizens, foundations, and the business community throughout the year as we make ongoing investments to support child nutrition programs across the state. End-of-school-year donations, as we fund summer meals sites, are as timely as more conventional end-of-calendar-year contributions. The generosity of our supporters, whenever it is actualized, is quickly invested to connect Maine kids with healthy meals right away.

We encourage Maine businesses to make child hunger a part of their social mission by donating funds; providing in-kind contributions (especially in support of our benefit events); sponsorship of individual events, a specific platform, or as core partner of our work; joining our FEED KIDS initiative, encouraging staff to engage with Full Plates Full Potential; and sharing your commitment to ending child hunger with your customers/clients to raise awareness for our cause and inspire other to become part of the solution.
