Funtown Splashtown USA in Saco has become the target of angry phone calls, emails, Facebook posts and tweets meant for a similarly named water park in Texas over an alleged bullying incident.
The Portland Press Herald reported that Funtown started receiving the messages Friday after news reports emerged about a mother alleging that two employees at Splashtown in San Antonio were making fun of her autistic son. The two parks have no relation.
Funtown posted a Facebook message Saturday to clear up the confusion, saying “it would NEVER condone our team members to ridicule, tease or bully ANY guest.”
