The average price for a gallon of gas in Maine has fallen to a nearly two-year low of $3.37, according to the price-tracking website MaineGasPrices.com.
The site shows gas prices in the state have fallen off sharply since August, dropping from a high of more than $3.70. Still, at $3.37, Maine’s price remains around 18 cents higher than the national average.
Maine’s average gas price hovered around $3.50 earlier this year but has not dipped below $3.38 per gallon since late 2011.
