The U.S. Army has awarded General Dynamics a $100 million contract to manufacture machine guns at its Saco facility.
The four-year contract is for the production of M2 flex machine guns, a belt-fed, crew-served weapon. The General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products facility in Saco has delivered more than 35,000 M2 machine guns to the U.S. government since 1979, according to the company.
Falls Church, Va.-based General Dynamics employs approximately 92,000 people worldwide. It is also the owner of Bath Iron Works.
