Google said in a new report that the town of Brunswick has the strongest digital economy in Maine, citing the strong online presence of small businesses located there.
The Portland Press Herald reported that Google named Brunswick as one of this year’s “eCities,” an honor it gives to a community in every state. Brunswick’s digital economy was assessed by Ipsos, an independent research firm that partnered with Google for the study. Scarborough was named as an eCity last year.
Google highlighted Gelato Fiasco as one of the Brunswick-based businesses that has ““utilized the Web to strengthen their online presence and grow their brand, affording them the opportunity to serve their gelato in select grocery stores around the country.”
