Governor names new BEP chair

Governor John Baldacci yesterday named Ernest Hilton as the new interim chair of Maine’s Board of Environmental Protection.

Hilton, an attorney and civil engineer from Starks, has served on the BEP for nine years, according to a press release. He will serve as interim chair for the remainder of his term on the board, which will end when current pending matters are concluded, the press release says.

Hilton is replacing Virginia Plummer, whose term recently ended.
