GrowSmart announces Brookings sequels

The Yarmouth nonprofit GrowSmart Maine this week launched two major sequels to the influential 2006 report it developed with the Brookings Institution.

The first report will focus on developing a 10-year plan to reorganize state, county and municipal governments to be more effective and efficient. The second will examine how global warming could affect key Maine industries and what opportunities there may be for a “green innovation economy,” according to a press release from the nonprofit.

As long as funding is secured, GrowSmart plans to release the government report in spring 2009 and the climate change report later that year.
