TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site, today announced the winners of its Travelers’ Choice awards for the 25 best U.S. beaches.
For the second year in a row, Florida’s Clearwater Beach is named the No. 1 beach. Of the 25 best beaches in the U.S. that were named by TripAdvisor, Florida and Hawaii dominated the list, with 17 of the 25. Award winners were determined based on the quantity and quality of traveler reviews and ratings for beaches on TripAdvisor gathered over a 12-month period.
The only Maine location to make the list, Ogunquit Beach in York County, was ranked No. 18. “Perfect beach to walk as far along as you want — sand, sea, sunshine and a cooling breeze,” according to TripAdvisor. “Up to three miles of clean sand, shallow water, no rocks, beautiful waves, not to mention all the inviting restaurants along the way. Best place to unwind and catch up on life.”
