The Hews Company, established in 1927 by Roland C. Hews, is a fourth-generation family-owned company headquartered in Maine. The company is a manufacturer of custom truck bodies and distributor of truck-mounted equipment throughout northern New England and the Mid-Atlantic. We are known for our manufactured Taskmaster platform body, which has a lifetime structural warranty. Hews services and stocks parts for the equipment that we sell. The success of our company for 95 years is built on meeting our customers’ requirements. Our employees listen to customers, and with our supplier partners, provide a quality product that will meet each customer’s truck equipment needs.
Products: A range of truck bodies, including dump, platform/stake, van, service, lube and custom. We also install truck-mounted cranes, liftgates and suspensions. Related products and accessories include “power take-offs” (PTOs) and hydraulic systems and components, van interiors, ladder racks, safety-and-strobe lighting systems, tool boxes, load covers, winches, auxiliary fuel tanks and trailer accessories.

Paper products, cardboard, aluminum and scrap metal produced in our facilities are collected and recycled. Waste oil is collected for recycling as a heating fuel or disposal by a licensed environmental contractor. Other hazardous waste products are collected and turned over to a licensed environmental contractor to prevent release to the environment.
