Single-family home sales climbed 8.6% higher in January over the same month last year, which counters a 6.0% decline nationwide and a 3.1% dip across New England.
Maine Listings reported that the median sales price of single-family homes also rose 2.8% to $166,500 in January, which Maine Association of Realtors President Angelia Levesque said is a harbinger of a strong spring market.
January home sales stood at 721 for 2014, compared with 664 the previous year.
