Idexx Laboratories today said its first quarter adjusted income for 2008 was $26.1 million, up 19% from the same period in 2007.
Revenue increased to $249.1 million in the first quarter, up from $211.2 million a year ago for the Westbrook-based company, which makes water-purity tests and diagnostic equipment for veterinarians. Net income was adjusted because of a one-time tax benefit of $1.5 million in 2008.
Idexx expects more than $1 billion in annual revenue this year.
