Ignite Presque Isle

2024 Goals

Our goal is to unify private and public sectors to make the downtown of Presque Isle a leader in attracting new business, innovation and entrepreneurs to Aroostook County. Ignite PI’s purpose is to be the “connector” to a wide variety of resources for those looking to find ways to grow and thrive here. We strive to provide all the benefits of being a service-based nonprofit while also providing a much-needed resource of a boutique hotel and restaurant in the heart of the Star City. We are a nonprofit that has a for-profit hotel and restaurant as part of its’ mission. We are setting an example for innovative and creative opportunities that are available all around us. Our co-working space fosters innovation and provides networking opportunities to members and hotel guests alike. As our inaugural project, this storefront space is striving to achieve the most innovative business model in New England. Our goals include:

  • Maintain and sustain a strong nonprofit infrastructure
  • Complete the renovation of the iconic Northeastland Hotel
  • Develop the Innovation Center into a co-workspace that is the nexus of the Star City
  • Implement a path forward for new business attraction, community development and entrepreneurial support
  • Operate the Northeastland Hotel and Rodney’s at 436 Main with a tax paying model with the unique purpose of dedicating revenue to our nonprofit mission
