James W. Sewall names new CEO to replace Page

Old Town-based consulting firm James W. Sewall Co. has named David Edson its new CEO. Former CEO James Page has been appointed the chancellor of the University of Maine System.

Edson is currently president and will add CEO duties to his role, according to the Bangor Daily News. He’s worked at the forestry consulting firm since 1974 and was named vice president of forestry and natural resources in 1983. While with the company, Edson helped design geographic information system tools for use in forestry and land-use management. He also played a role in the company’s expansion into new industries like renewable energy.

Page begins his job as UMS chancellor tomorrow.
