After outgrowing its Bangor storefront, Designs by Aaron has moved to a larger location in Brewer, giving the locally owned jewelry business more room for continued growth.
The new store is at 383 Wilson St. in the Brewer Shopping Center.
Owner Aaron James told Mainebiz that the business outgrew its Bangor store several years ago. When the Brewer space became available, he saw an opportunity to create a larger store tailored to the needs of the business and its customers.
Convenient, dedicated parking was one of the priorities when searching for a new location, he said.
The interior was gutted down to the studs and rebuilt. The finished space includes an open showroom with more room to display jewelry and an expanded work area for the business's bench jewelers.
The additional space also allows Designs by Aaron to continue its focus on in-house jewelry repair and custom jewelry design.
Designs by Aaron got its start in Machias, where James began designing, restoring and repairing jewelry in 1997. He opened his own shop there in 2003 before moving the business to Bangor in 2016. The business has now been in operation for more than 20 years.
The grand reopening is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 16., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
