Junior Achievement of Maine (JA Maine)

2025 Goals

  • Strengthen partnerships with all industries throughout Maine so students understand the breadth of opportunity for building a career in the state.

  • Provide learning experiences that cultivate entrepreneurial mindsets within students and inspire them to live choice-filled lives.

  • Diversify our volunteer base so every Maine student sees themselves reflected in the JA mentors they connect with.

  • Grow our volunteer base and student impact to meet our 2026 strategic goal of impacting 20,000 students through a network of 1,000 community volunteers.

  • Support the growth of Maine’s workforce by 75,000 people as outlined in Maine’s 10-Year Economic Plan by being a strategic partner in bringing career exploration and workforce readiness to K-12th grade students statewide.

Fundraising events/Opportunities

JA’s Maine Business Hall of Fame brings over 400 Maine business leaders together to recognize Maine icons of commerce and industry. This event honors laureates who demonstrate business excellence, courageous thinking and acting, inspired leadership and community mindedness.

JAM Fest is a fun, community focused event celebrating the end of the school year, and the people who bring JA’s hands-on experiences to life for kids.

JA Titan is a direct way to get your business in front of hundreds of high school students from across Maine and collaborate with multiple industries within the state. This immersive competition introduces high school students to business and entrepreneurship by making them the CEO of a company.

Golf Classics: JA Maine also hosts golf tournaments in Auburn and Presque Isle, providing opportunities to connect with other companies and clients and get your business in front of a targeted audience.

Career Speaker Panels offer a direct way to get involved in the Maine community, get in front of Maine students and cultivate your business’ future talent pipeline. Panel topics are industry or company specific to showcase Maine’s job opportunities to students.

Giving Opportunities

Businesses can become a corporate partner and take a stake in Junior Achievement of Maine’s mission. Partnership provides funding to develop Maine’s workforce by supporting learning experiences that address economic mobility and cultivating entrepreneurial mindsets in students.

Event sponsorship is a great way to align your company with JA Maine’s mission and get in front of the business community.

Donate at jamaine.org/donate. Recurring donations, planned giving and an annual appeal campaign are all ways to support JA Maine’s mission on an individual level.

Volunteer Opportunities

Impacting a student’s life, instilling a sense of possibility and encouraging their ideas, and being part of the solution to address economic mobility and the future of Maine’s workforce are just a few things you accomplish when volunteering with JA Maine.

Bring Junior Achievement learning experiences to students throughout Maine. Multi-week and single-day experiences, job shadowing, speaker opportunities, and mentorship are all available as volunteer options.

JA provides all the materials and guidance needed to make sure you are comfortable and prepared, as well as empowered to weave in your own life and work experiences.
