Junior Achievement of Maine (JA Maine)

2024 Goals

JA Maine goals and priorities:

  • Broaden JA Maine’s statewide reach in underserved communities
  • Create solutions for Maine schools by providing standards-based, financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurial education to K-12th grade students.
  • Bridge the education and workforce communities to drive Maine’s economy
  • Inspire the workforce of tomorrow through unique learning experiences
  • Diversify our volunteer base so every Maine student sees themselves reflected in the JA mentors they connect with
  • Strengthen partnerships to leverage donor and volunteer support of our important mission.

Fundraising events/Opportunities

JA Titan Challenge – April 4, 2024: This immersive competition introduces high school students to business and entrepreneurship by putting them in the CEO seat to run a company.

JAM Fest – May 2024: This networking event recognizes the heart of our organization, the mentors who make JA experiences possible; enjoy fun games and a deep sense of community.

JA Golf Events – Summer 2024: Join us in Auburn (6/3/24) and Presque Isle (8/3/24) for a day of golf and networking, which includes a BBQ lunch, reception and prizes.

JA Maine Business Hall of Fame – Fall 2024: This event was established to recognize Maine icons of commerce and industry. Honoring laureates who demonstrate business excellence, courageous thinking and acting, inspired leadership, and community mindedness.

Giving Opportunities

JA Maine offers year-round opportunities to ensure every child, today and in the future, can learn to be resourceful, innovative, collaborative and resilient:

  • Start a recurring monthly donation or make a one-time investment at jamaine.org/donate, by mail or by calling (207) 347-4333.
  • Become a corporate partner to show your businesses’ commitment to Maine’s future talent pipeline.
  • Sponsor one of JA’s events throughout the year.
  • Establish your legacy by including JA Maine in your planned giving.
  • Donate in honor of a milestone, friend or colleague.
  • Participate in our Giving Tuesday Campaign on Nov. 28, 2023.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers bring Junior Achievement learning experiences to life and help connect what students are learning in the classroom to the real world. A little time can have a big impact! JA provides all the materials and guidance needed to make sure you are comfortable, prepared and empowered.

  • Classroom Experiences – Short, multi week sessions
  • JA in a Day – One school day commitment
  • JA Career Speaker – Opportunity to talk about your career journey
  • JA Job Shadow – Invite a classroom of students to shadow your organization
  • JA Titan – Mentor a team of high school students in their classroom and/or at the JA Titan Challenge where students compete as business CEO’s
