Kittery is investing in alternative energy. The Kittery City Council yesterday voted to spend $185,000 to erect a single wind turbine capable of generating roughly $10,000 of energy a year, according to Portland news station WCSH 6. The 124-foot turbine will provide energy for the town’s waste transfer station, as well as a nearby middle school.
