Legislative leaders have trimmed down the number of bill requests for the second legislative year beginning in January.
A preliminary count found that the Legislative Council Thursday selected 148 out of 566 bills submitted for consideration, in addition to 169 bills carried over from the first session, and 47 bills submitted by the governor and executive departments, according to a press release. The second year of the two-year Legislature is reserved for budgetary and emergency items.
