Andwell Health Partners, a Lewiston care provider formerly known as Androscoggin Home Healthcare & Hospice, has merged with Sandcastle Clinical and Educational Services.
The merger, which took effect July 1, is intended to combine and enhance an array of family-centered services for Maine children under the Andwell Health Partners brand.
A spokesperson with Andwell Health Partners told Mainebiz that CEO Ken Albert will retain the leadership role for the combined business, while Stephanie Gelinas, CEO and founder of Sandcastle, will step into the role of director of pediatric services.
“Our cultures are blending beautifully, and I have every confidence that we will be stronger together,” said Albert. “The team at Sandcastle is second to none, and we are very excited to welcome them to the Andwell family as we continue our work of serving Maine people.”
Andwell Health Partners has about 700 employees and added 32 employees from Sandcastle as part of the merger on Monday.
“This merger not only presents greater capacity for impact, but it also allows our organizations to build upon our strengths, our common set of values, and respond more strategically to both the pediatric healthcare and early childhood educational needs of our community,” said Gelinas.
In related news, Andwell Medical Partners, a division of Andwell Health Partners, said it will launch a hearing services unit called Andwell Audiology in the coming months.
