Lincoln Street Hoteliers LLC has received a guaranteed federal loan of over $7 million to help build its $12.3 million Hampton Inn hotel in downtown Lewiston.
The guaranteed loan, issued in partnership with Machias Savings Bank, comes through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Program.
According to a press release, developers expect the 93-room hotel will employ the equivalent of 17 full-time employees at an average of twice the federal minimum wage, which is $7.25 per hour.
Developers began construction on the project last fall and expect its completion this year, according to the Sun Journal.
