LincolnHealth expansion moves forward

Construction of a new professional building on the Miles Hospital campus of LincolnHealth, Damariscotta’s largest nonprofit and largest employer, was given the green light to begin by Damariscotta’s Planning Board, the Boothbay Register reported.

CEO James Donovan said the project is estimated to cost $13.7 million. Funding will come from several sources, including a $4 million capital campaign currently underway, grants and capital funds.

In 2007, the trustees of Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta and LincolnHealth–St. Andrews Campus and Healthcare Center in Boothbay Harbor voted to create LincolnHealth, a new parent company for both organizations, according to the LincolnHealth website.

In 2013, both hospitals merged to form a single hospital with two campuses known as LincolnHealth.
