L.L.Bean boosts spring sales, gives bonuses

L.L.Bean says it logged the best spring sales since 2008 and will pay out slightly over $1 million to its employees as a result.

The Bangor Daily News reported the company’s 5,000 full- and part-time workers hired before August will receive between $35 and $185 based on their length of employment.

The company’s sales increased 3% during the spring season, from March to August, compared to last year, the paper reported. L.L.Bean spokeswoman Carolyn Beem declined to disclose the company’s final spring sales figure.

The company last year provided a 7.5% bonus to employees based on $1.52 billion in revenue. Beem declined to say whether the company is on track to beat its sales volume for 2012.
