Sea Bags and Cousins Maine Lobster, two Maine businesses, have teamed up on a crustacean-themed fundraiser for the Maine Lobster Community Alliance.
The alliance, a Kennebunk-based nonprofit, aims to foster thriving coastal communities and preserve Maine’s lobstering heritage.
“This collaboration is about more than a beautiful bag,” said Kevin Kelley, director of advancement for Maine Lobster Community Alliance. “It’s a way for people who love Maine to give back to the hardworking lobstering families who are the backbone of our coastal economy and culture.”
For the campaign, Sea Bags created a limited-edition tote, beverage bucket and wristlet. Inspired by traditional summer lobster bakes in the coastal communities of Maine, the Coastal Catch Picnic edition features blue and white stripes and a Cousins Maine Lobster. The bags will retail for $30 to $215.
Some 20% of sales proceeds will be donated to the Maine Lobster Community Alliance’s advocacy for a sustainable lobster resource and the communities that depend on it.
Funds raised will directly support fishing families, working waterfronts and coastal communities that power Maine’s lobstering heritage.
This marks the second partnership this year between the two Maine businesses, which recently joined forces on a fundraiser for the Maine Cancer Foundation.
