Luke’s Lobster takes on Miami

Luke’s Lobster, the homegrown chain with locations along the East Coast, has opened its first Miami location.

Luke’s has other locations in Tenants Harbor, Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Las Vegas and Washington, D.C. Through a third-party operator, it has five locations in Japan.

Co-founder and President Ben Conniff said Miami was a natural extension of its New York clientele, according to Miami New Times. It is one of more than a dozen restaurants in the $1 billion Bricknell City Centre, a mixed-use property developed by Swire Properties, Whitman Family Development and Simon Property Group.

Cape Elizabeth native Luke Holden, co-founder and namesake, opened his first Luke’s Lobster in 2009, in New York City. He also operates a sister company, Cape Seafood, in Saco.
