Navy Secretary Ray Mabus plans to visit Bath Iron Works and Portsmouth Naval Shipyard on Monday at the invitation of U.S. Sen. Susan Collins.
Collins, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said the visit will mark Mabus’ first stop at the shipyards and said she’s pleased he’s open to learning about Maine’s shipbuilding and repair yards, the Associated Press reported. Details of the visit have not yet been finalized.
