Maine Association of Nonprofits (MANP)

2026 Goals

Over recent years, MANP and our growing network of 1,300+ member organizations have faced unprecedented challenges – from the pandemic to ongoing federal policy shifts impacting programs, funding, and communities. Through it all, we’ve strengthened connections, shared resources, and amplified nonprofit voices.

Building on our learnings, MANP is meeting the moment by uniting our network to collaborate, advocate, problem-solve, and adapt. We focus on creating a stronger nonprofit sector in Maine by:

1. Inspiring change through advocacy and storytelling

2. Weaving connections to spark innovation and collaboration

3. Championing a healthy and sustainable workforce

4. Helping nonprofits reimagine strategy amid uncertainty

5. Building boards that center purpose and impact

As Maine’s go-to resource for charitable organizations, MANP builds nonprofit capacity, connections, and cross-sector influence. We invite businesses and community leaders to join us in strengthening Maine’s mission-driven work.

Fundraising events/Opportunities

Sponsorship opportunities are available for Together for Good: Maine’s Nonprofit Gathering, MANP’s year-end event which brings together hundreds of nonprofit changemakers from across Maine. Taking place this December in Portland, it’s a day of connection, inspiration, and collaborative learning for the people powering Maine’s mission-driven work. Showcase your business to Maine’s nonprofit sector (which employs 1 in 6 Maine workers!) while investing in the collective capacity of organizations working to make Maine a better place to live, work, and play.

Corporate donors can also help nonprofits access MANP’s educational programs and services by contributing to MANP’s scholarship fund, which supports nonprofit members who would otherwise not be able to participate due to financial barriers. Because nonprofits are local and respond to community needs, these contributions have a direct impact, enabling organizations to strengthen their capacity, better serve their communities, and build leadership within Maine’s nonprofit sector.

Giving Opportunities

Businesses and individuals may join MANP’s membership as a “Friend of MANP” starting at $100 annually. Sponsorship opportunities of MANP’s programs and services are also available (separate from membership) and provide valuable marketing opportunities and brand exposure to a statewide network while supporting resources that help Maine’s mission-focused organizations operate more effectively.

Opportunities include in-person and virtual events, MANP’s popular job board, biennial publications, programs in the Get on Board initiative, and many other nonprofit management development happenings.

Volunteer Opportunities

Consider board service with a Maine nonprofit! Nonprofit organizations rely on dedicated and committed volunteers – specifically board members – to achieve their missions. Maine nonprofits consistently name board recruitment as a top challenge. On the flipside, many community members are interested in sharing their skills and perspectives and growing as leaders through board or committee service, but aren’t sure where or how to find an opportunity that feels right.

MANP created Board Explorer as a way to connect nonprofits with people with purpose. This free service facilitates connections between individuals interested in serving on a board and organizations looking to enhance their boards/committees with new perspectives and talents. Get started anytime by visiting: www.NonprofitMaine.org/BoardExplorer.
