Maine Association of Nonprofits (MANP)

2027 goals

Nonprofits across Maine are navigating a complex and uncertain environment shaped by shifting funding landscapes, workforce shortages, economic pressures, and growing community needs. Through it all, MANP has been supporting our statewide network of 1,300 member organizations to adapt to this evolving landscape, sustain essential services, and advance their missions.

  • MANP strengthens Maine’s nonprofit sector by:
  • Amplifying nonprofit voices through advocacy and storytelling
  • Weaving connections that foster collaboration and shared solutions
  • Championing a healthy and sustainable nonprofit workforce
  • Supporting nonprofits in adapting strategy and operations amid uncertainty
  • Building boards that center purpose, accountability, and impact

As Maine’s statewide nonprofit resource and advocate, MANP builds capacity, connections, and cross-sector influence. We invite businesses to partner with MANP in advancing the work of Maine’s nonprofit sector.

Fundraising events/Opportunities

Sponsorship opportunities are available for Together for Good: Maine’s Nonprofit Gathering, MANP’s signature statewide convening bringing together hundreds of nonprofit staff, board members, volunteers, and community partners from across Maine. This November in Auburn, participants will come together to learn from one another, explore shared challenges and opportunities, and cultivate the relationships that help Maine’s nonprofit sector thrive. Sponsoring Together for Good offers a meaningful opportunity to connect with Maine’s nonprofit community while investing in the collective capacity of organizations working to strengthen communities across the state.

Corporate donors can also help nonprofits access MANP’s educational programs and services by contributing to MANP’s scholarship fund, which supports nonprofit members who would otherwise not be able to participate due to financial barriers. Because nonprofits are local and respond to community needs, these contributions have a direct impact, enabling organizations to build knowledge and skills, better serve their communities, and build leadership within Maine’s nonprofit sector.

Giving opportunities

Businesses and consultants can support MANP by joining as a “Friend of MANP” with annual memberships starting at $100.

Sponsorship opportunities for MANP programs and services are also available and provide brand visibility to a statewide network while helping Maine nonprofits better serve their communities. Sponsorship opportunities include in-person and virtual events, MANP’s popular job board, publications, programs like the Get on Board initiative, and other nonprofit management learning opportunities.

By investing in MANP, businesses help strengthen Maine’s nonprofit sector while building meaningful connections with the organizations and communities they care about.

Volunteer opportunities

Consider board service with a Maine nonprofit! Nonprofit organizations rely on dedicated volunteers – especially board members – to achieve their missions, yet Maine nonprofits consistently identify board recruitment as a top challenge. At the same time, many community members are interested in sharing their skills and perspectives, growing as leaders, and making a meaningful impact through board or committee service, but aren’t sure where or how to find an opportunity that feels right.

MANP created Board Explorer to connect people with purpose to nonprofits seeking board and committee members. This free service facilitates connections between individuals interested in serving on a board and organizations looking to enhance their boards and committees with new perspectives, skills, and talents.
