Freeport-based craft brewery Maine Beer Co. has submitted conceptual plans for a major expansion at its brewing and tasting room on Route 1.
The Portland Press Herald reported that early plans for the expansion, which would add a 20,300-square-foot, two-story building, will be reviewed by Freeport officials at an Aug. 18 meeting.
Plans for the project show an expanded tasting room with outdoor seating and the addition of a production and office building. Maine Beer said the expansion is necessary to meet demand for its brews, which have gained national popularity, according to the Press Herald.
