Maine Behavioral Healthcare

2020 Goals

  • Deliver evidence-based care that leads to measurable improvements in patients’ well being, utilizing population and illness-based specialization, clinical training and the generation of new knowledge.
  • Establish and grow collaborations with other providers, organizations and community agencies to help achieve partnerships to improve the health of the communities we serve.
  • Create a culture of engagement that attracts top talent, improves retention and fosters a supportive environment for all employees.

Fundraising events/Opportunities

Through corporate, foundation and individual gifts and event sponsorships, Maine Behavioral Healthcare raises funds to support programs and services for our clients and their families to ensure that high quality care is received regardless of a patient’s ability to pay. Events include:

  • April: Heroes with Heart recognizes first responders, volunteers and everyday heroes who help those who have faced traumatic events. Proceeds benefit the Trauma Intervention Program, which provides on-scene emotional and practical support to trauma survivors and their families.
  • August: Annual Golf Classic, with proceeds benefitting our children’s mental health and support programs and services.
  • October: The Glickman Family Center for Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Symposium, the region’s most authoritative conference for child and adolescent psychiatry professionals from around the country.

Giving Opportunities

In addition to unrestricted gifts to our Annual Fund, we have a wide range of programs and services worthy of support:

  • The Center for Autism and Developmental Disorders, providing Maine’s children, adolescents and their families a single source for comprehensive, coordinated treatment;
  • Expansion of opioid treatment services, providing integrated medication assisted treatment;
  • Vocational training and arts programs for people in recovery;
  • Grateful patient gifts to honor a Maine Behavioral Healthcare employee;
  • In-kind gifts of new clothing, toys and gift cards for clients and their families.

Employer matching gifts, planned gifts, and gifts of stock are also welcomed. Please call the Development Office at (207) 661-6100 or visit our website at www.mainebehavioralhealthcare.org to make a secure online gift.

Volunteer Opportunities

Maine Behavioral Healthcare values the gifts of time and talent from a wide array of volunteers. Opportunities can be tailored to an individual area of interest and include specific program support, fundraising and event support, committee membership, administrative help and our holiday patient giving programs.
