Maine Cancer Foundation

2026 Goals

Maine Cancer Foundation (MCF) is committed to reducing the impact of cancer in all of Maine’s 16 counties. Our grantmaking focuses on the following:

Access to Care: Everyone deserves access to the best possible care, regardless of their income level or where they live. MCF supports efforts to ensure the availability of the best treatments for all Mainers. With financial distress only increasing for cancer patients, MCF also funds programs addressing food insecurity, mortgage/rental assistance, household expenses, medical expenses, transportation, and other important basic needs.

Prevention: The best way to beat cancer is to prevent it from occurring. MCF supports statewide prevention efforts, focusing on preventative care, healthy lifestyles, and reducing tobacco use.

Early Detection: Finding cancer early, when it is most treatable and beatable, saves lives. MCF supports programs that improve and increase early detection and screening efforts.

In addition, MCF serves as the backbone organization for Maine’s Impact Cancer Network (MICN). This 500-member effort is dedicated to reducing cancer’s impact on individuals and communities in Maine through collaboration and systems improvement.

A critical leader in the state with a bird’s eye view of the cancer landscape locally and nationally, MCF recognizes that only through strong partnerships can true success be achieved.
