Believe it or not, I remember being a teenager and feeling both the pull of “anything is possible” and the push from “no great opportunities will ever come my way.”
Maybe you’re going through something similar. If so, I’d like to tell you a little bit about the Maine Apprenticeship Program. It’s a way for you to break into a career that pays well, is in demand, and has interesting work. Better yet? You’ll get paid while you’re learning on the job. What kind of fields are we talking about?

And that’s not even close to the full list. Our mission is to make it so anyone in Maine, age 16 and up, can gain the skills they need through hands-on learning. I know I said it earlier, but it bears repeating — apprentices make money while learning on the job. In fact, apprentices earn over $300,000 more over their lifetimes than their peers who don’t complete a program.
There’s a whole life that begins after high school. And for some of us, the classroom isn’t where we do our best learning. That’s where becoming an apprentice can really make a difference. You’ll be matched with the right people who can put you on the best path to the career you want, while earning a paycheck, and building the life in Maine you’re looking for.
