Maine Department of Labor is sharing career help that meets you where you are

The Maine Department of Labor is here to connect you with your career pathway and resources you may need to succeed in your chosen career path.

In addition to in-person resources, with the newly launched Work Source Maine and the virtual CareerCenter, you have found Maine’s one-stop online destination for job seekers, students, parents, educators and career counselors looking to explore, plan and achieve their career goals.

Work Source Maine helps you explore career options that match your skills, interests, and ambitions, and plan your future with personalized tools for career exploration, job planning, and academic pathways.

It can guide you in career exploration, job planning, work-based learning opportunities, postsecondary pathway selection, and academic planning based on your needs.

For some of us, the classroom isn’t where we do our best learning. That’s where becoming an apprentice can really make a difference. Through the Registered Apprenticeship Program, you’ll be matched with the right people who can put you on the best path to the career you want, while earning a paycheck, and building the life in Maine you’re looking for.

In a Registered Apprenticeship, you are an employee earning money while you learn skills in your chosen industry, such as: Healthcare / Construction / Manufacturing / Clean Energy and Infrastructure / Information Technology / Education / Hospitality.

And fun fact — apprentices earn $300,000+ more over their lifetimes than their peers who don’t complete a program.

Not sure what career you are interested in? Utilize our career exploration tool, a discovery dashboard for students and job seekers to explore the many career options available in Maine, and the educational or training requirements necessary to pursue a career path.
