Maine Family Planning

2023 Goals

Maine Family Planning is focused on expanding access to clinical services and programs, with an emphasis on reaching those who face barriers, including young people, rural communities, LGBTQIA+ people, people with low-incomes, and Black, Indigenous and other people of color. MFP continues to invest in technology that increases access to programs and services, and invest in people that deepen our connections to the communities we serve.

Fundraising/Event Opportunities

Prior to the pandemic, Maine Family Planning held an annual gala fundraising event, and plans are underway to bring this event back in 2022-23. Businesses and donors can help as event sponsors, volunteers and social ambassadors. We are always interested in collaborating with businesses and individuals on special fundraising events.

Giving Opportunities

Sexual and reproductive health care and comprehensive, age-appropriate sexuality education shouldn’t be controversial. The business community has a tremendous opportunity to show bold, visionary leadership as supporters of sexual and reproductive health and rights in this moment, and Maine Family Planning’s development team is ready to tell the story of your philanthropy, celebrate your generosity, and share your brand with our community of supporters. Monetary contributions are essential to our ability to carry out our mission. In-kind gifts of services or goods can also be extraordinarily special. Contact the MFP development office to discuss how you would like to give: giving@mainefamilyplanning.org.

Volunteer Opportunities

The vast majority of Maine Family Planning’s volunteer opportunities are virtual and can fit into even the busiest of schedules. We always need storytellers who will share their experiences, anonymous or otherwise, of accessing sexual and reproductive health care and information. These stories can be used impactfully in fundraising material, advocacy campaigns and legislative testimony. Other volunteer opportunities include assisting MFP at outreach events, committing to interact with and amplify MFP’s digital content, and service on development and engagement committees.
