Camden-based Redzone Wireless LLC says it’s completed its goal of making its wireless broadband services available to more than 25% of all Maine households by the end of the year.
The firm recently activated 4G LTE coverage in Ellsworth and Cape Elizabeth, following its privately funded expansions to Westbrook, Bath, Camden, Rockland, Manchester, Augusta, Portland, Waterville, Auburn and Casco Bay. Â
Jim McKenna, the company’s president, said the long-term goal is to expand to more than 90% of Maine’s residents and businesses by 2018.
U.S. Sen. Susan Collins in a statement in the company’s news release that increasing access to high-speed broadband services at affordable rates is crucial to the state’s economic success.
