Gelato Fiasco founders Joshua Davis and Bruno Tropeano were named to a list of 100 young entrepreneurs to be honored at a White House ceremony later this month.
The two gelatieri are Maine’s only representatives on the 2012 Empact100 list, chosen by members of this year’s Empact Academy, according to a press release.
Those academy members include the founders of LivingSocial, Chuck E. Cheese, Priceline.com, Redbox, Endeavor and Open Table. To qualify for the list, companies must have leading entrepreneurs who are under the age of 30 and revenues topping $100,000 a year.
The gelato shop that started in Brunswick and expanded to Portland earlier this year employs 36 people in its retail and wholesale departments.
