The statewide cash price for heating fuel has decreased by 3 cents over the past week, according to a survey by the Governor’s Energy Office.
The Associated Press reported that the average statewide price was $3.03 per gallon for the week of Nov. 24, according to the survey. That’s 53 cents less than the statewide average of $3.56 during the same period last year.
The price for heating oil was the highest in central Maine, where prices topped $3.40, while it was the lowest in southwestern Maine, where the bottom price was $2.66.
The average price for kerosene stayed the same from the previous week at $3.62, while the average price for propane decreased by 1 cent to $2.82.
