Maine has joined 13 other states to try to overturn a Bush administration proposal to allow coal- and oil-fired power plants to evade cutting mercury pollution, according to a press release issued by the Natural Resources Council of Maine.
Representatives from the 14 states, Native American tribes, public health and environmental groups and medical organizations are appearing at the U.S. Court of Appeals in the District of Columbia today to object to a suite of Environmental Protection Agency rules, including the “so-called Clean Air Mercury Rule.”
