MaineHealth’s board of directors has given its approval to a $40 million expansion plan at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
The Bangor Daily News reported the health care network is seeking local approval for the project that would add five operating rooms to the Portland hospital’s campus.
The project, which the company hopes to complete by October 2014, also will need approval from the Maine Department of Health and Human Services.
