Maine Manufacturing Extension Partnership today said it is launching a research study to assess manufacturers in the state and improve their competitiveness in a global economy.
The Next Generation Manufacturing Study is the first step in a long-term effort to help state manufacturers weather the current recession and improve manufacturing competitiveness, according to a press release from the Maine MEP. Manufacturers will be asked to complete a web-based survey, which will be available Feb. 10 through March 15. Survey participants will receive a customized benchmarking report comparing their progress to the overall results as well as to other respondents of similar revenue and number of employees.
The study is part of a coordinated multistate effort by the American Small Manufacturers Coalition that includes 17 other MEP Centers.
