A total of 33 nonprofits helping communities across Maine and New Hampshire address needs from food security to affordable housing have been awarded grants from the Bangor Savings Bank Foundation to amplify the impact.
The foundation awarded $120,000 in total, with grants ranging from $2,000 to $5,000.
Maine recipients include the Gorham Food Pantry, which will receive $5,000 to expand its storage capacity with a new walk-in refrigerator and freezer.

Other grantees included the Androscoggin Land Trust, the Augusta Food Bank, Boots2Roots in Freeport, Camp Susan Curtis in Stoneham, Down East Hospice Volunteers in Calais, Habitat for Humanity, Safe Voices in Auburn and Pet Partners of Eastern Maine, based in Bangor.
“Strong communities depend on organizations that meet local needs and create opportunities for people to thrive,” said Colin Baier, director of wealth management and a senior trust officer at Bangor Savings.
“Through their work, these organizations make a meaningful difference every day and help strengthen communities across Northern New England,” he added.
Bangor Savings is ranked as the largest Maine-based bank in the 2026 Mainebiz Book of Lists. Rankings are based on assets as of June 30, 2025.
In 2025, the bank and its foundation invested more than $3 million in its communities through sponsorships, grants and partnership initiatives.
