Maine receives $2.4M for coastal planning

The Maine State Planning Office has received roughly $2.4 million from the federal government to plan for the future of the state’s coastal regions.

The $2.4 million Coastal Zone Management Administration Award from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration will help Maine monitor economic growth, housing and transportation on the coast, according to a press release from Sen. Olympia Snowe’s office.
