The Maine Technology Institute said Thursday it awarded $82,763 to eight companies across Maine to advance their new product and process development.
The award recipients matched the grants with a total of $101,070
The Brunswick-based nonprofit said it awarded $14,050 in TechStart Grants to four companies, $63,723 in Business Accelerator Grants to three companies and $4,990 in one Phase 0 KickStarter award.
“The investments will assist the companies in developing new products and systems and, ultimately, will help facilitate their continued viability and growth,” Brian Whitney, MTI’s president, said in a statement.
The next application for the TechStart and Business Accelerator Grant programs is Feb. 2 at 5 p.m.
