MaineHealth to open urgent care center in North Conway, NH

MaineHealth patients in North Conway, N.H., will soon have the option of a new urgent care facility opening Feb. 2 instead of the emergency room at MaineHealth Memorial Hospital.

MaineHealth Urgent Care, located at 1976 White Mountain Highway in the New Hampshire village, will open with 15 care team members, with plans to expand staffing to 18 to 20, according to spokeswoman Caroline Cornish.

MaineHealth Urgent Care aims to improve access to quick care for minor illnesses and injuries, particularly during peak tourist seasons in the outdoor recreation hub nestled in the White Mountains.

Because emergency rooms prioritize the most severe cases, patients with non-life-threatening issues often get faster, lower-cost care at urgent care clinics.

“If MaineHealth is to achieve its vision of working together so our communities are the healthiest in America, patients need access to convenient, local care from providers they trust,” said MaineHealth CEO Andy Mueller, a licensed medical doctor.

“MaineHealth Urgent Care is designed to address the gap in the availability of health care provided in the Mount Washington Valley,” he added.

Walk-ins and reservations

Patients at the new center can either be examined without an appointment or reserve a place in line and complete their registration before arrival.

The facility will offer imaging and lab services, with patient records fully integrated into the MaineHealth system for seamless care coordination.

With more than 2,000 employed providers and 23,000 care team members across the system, MaineHealth is ranked as the Pine Tree State’s largest private employer in the 2026 Mainebiz Book of Lists. It is a not-for-profit, integrated health system.

Rankings are based on average monthly employment in the first quarter of 2025.
