Maine’s gross domestic product increased slightly between 2006 and 2007, according to new estimates released today by the federal Bureau of Economic Analysis.
Maine’s real GDP increased 1.3% from 2006 to 2007, while New England’s increased 2.1% during the same period. Meanwhile, the country’s GDP increased 2% in 2007.
Maine had the 42nd lowest per capita real GDP with $30,282 in “chained 2000 dollars”, an index formula the BEA uses to estimate real GDP by state. GDP is a calculation of the goods and services produced within a state.
