Maine’s hospitality industry will get a marketing push for slow season

Visit Portland has launched a statewide dining and hospitality promotion aimed at boosting midweek business over Maine’s slow winter season.

The program, called Winter Weekdays, will run through April 30 and is meant to build on the success of the 2025 “Winter Wednesday” pilot program.

Winter Weekdays gives restaurants, breweries, cafés, bars and hotels the flexibility to choose the slowest weekday for their business.

Winter Weekdays is about supporting Maine’s hospitality community when it matters most,” said Lynn Tillotson, president and CEO of Visit Portland. “This program helps businesses generate midweek traffic, supports local jobs, and invites people to experience Maine’s food scene and communities all winter long.”

More than 50 restaurants and around 20 hotels around the state will be participating, featuring promotions that include New England Clam Chowder and “Current Mood” cocktail for $20 at Luke’s Lobster in Portland, $8 prosecco pours and $1.50 oysters at Luna Rooftop Bar in Portland and half-priced wine bottles and $2 oysters at Back River Bistro; and 40% off weekday stays at York Harbor Hotel.
